Seated Figure by Mary Markowitz, November 2003

Artist: Mary Markowitz
Title: Seated Figure
Date: November 2003

Artist's Statement:
This is an abstracted study of the human form. The position I chose is rather melancholy, which is why I chose to display it in this way. It is in a somewhat secluded place, despite the fact that it is in a busy, easily accessible space in the building. It demonstrates how a person can be lonely or alone while in the midst of many other human beings. For better or for worse, it is as easy as finding an isolated corner and turning your back on the world.
