Title: Hats

Artist's Statement:
Clothes make the man, but to me it seems, a hat says much more. For this art piece, I chose various mediums and building methods to create different types of hats. I 'reused' my materials; finding cans in the recycle bin, leftover chicken bones, and Happy Meal toys from Goodwill among others. I tried to be true to the themes my hats took on, using only natural materials in the 'natural' hats, and manufactured materials in the 'manufactured' hats. Think about the hat shapes and the way they work with materials. Who do you think would wear this style of hat? How would you feel wearing it? Let your imagination go...
