What does a reference librarian do?

There is a lot that our reference librarians can do to help you do well at Lawrence.

  • Save time! We can help you navigate the library's electronic databases.
  • Help you learn to search LUCIA, the library's catalog.
  • Teach you how to use library equipment, such as the scanners and copier.
  • Guide you to the best citation sources and generators.
  • Help you to construct better searches.
  • And so much more! Ask us anything!

Quick Tips

  • Covered beverages and snacks are welcome in the library.
  • The first floor is usually the noisiest and the fourth is the quietest.
  • Your Lawrence ID is your library card.
  • It's our job to help you- don't be afraid to ask!
