LU provides secure wireless access to the campus data network throughout the campus.
-
Students' devices and Lawrence owned devices connect to the LUwireless network. Students - you may also connect via "wired" from your residence hall room if you prefer. Click here for connection instructions.
-
Guests connect to the LUguest network but must request access via the Guest Wireless Access Form.
NOTE 1: If your computer is not already registered with Technology Services you will be redirected to our registration page automatically.
NOTE 2: Personal wireless access points are NOT permitted on the Lawrence network as they can interfere with the Lawrence wireless network. To ensure the proper functioning of the Lawrence wireless network, Technology Services will work to find and remove any sources of wireless interference.
Technology Services has created step-by-step instructions to walk you through the configuration process for connecting to the network, setting up a printer, and accessing your network spaces. Please read these important notes before you begin:
-
Select the appropriate Registration Guide below, based on your operating system.
-
Follow the instructions in the order they are presented in the guide.

The majority of computers can register on the Lawrence University Network without difficulty. To check if your computer is capable of network registration, verify that it meets our network hardware requirements.
-
Once you have successfully completed the Lawrence University Network Registration process, you can then register any game console you may have brought to campus (See Additional Instructions below).

Once connected to the LUwireless network you will be prompted for a username and password. Enter your network/e-mail username and password. Depending on your device you may also get a certificate warning message. You must accept this certificate to continue.
-
On an Android-based device make sure to select PEAP for the EAP method and MSCHAPV2 for the phase 2 authentication.

Once the connection to the LUwireless network has been made, start an internet browser to complete the registration process. This will likely be Safari on the Apple iOS devices or Internet Explorer on Windows devices.
-
In the browser go to www.lawrence.edu. Select Continue at the security prompt. Instead of getting the desired site you will be redirected to the Lawrence University Network Registration page. Click Continue at the bottom of the software piracy page.

Phones or other personal devices will not require anti-virus software. Click Continue at the bottom of the registration page.
-
On the Select Options page click on the top (student) link to continue.

The registration and security agent application screen will appear. Select your device type (either Smartphone or Other) from the drop down list box. Enter your network/e-mail username and password and click the Download button to register.
-
Depending on your device, you may or may not get a successfully registered message. This message will NOT appear for some devices.
-
You must reboot your device. You should then be able to access the internet on your personal device using the LUwireless wireless network.
Note: Remember that Lawrence currently has wireless service in academic buildings and in residence halls. We do not yet have coverage outdoors or in some administrative buildings.
