**Applications for Term III are due May 11, 2018**

By encouraging students to build real-world skills while helping Lawrence achieve its sustainability goals, the Student Sustainability Fund promotes merging academics and campus operations to create a living laboratory. This fund offers students competitive grants of up to $2,500 for projects that may consist of research, internships, volunteer or service projects, class projects, or student group initiatives. Priority will be giving to projects that have a sustainability outcome for the campus, or utilize the campus as a living laboratory. Examples include: developing educational tools and programs for conservation efforts, researching the feasibility of a campus bike-share program, removal of invasive species on campus, funding for travel to and from an internship, a stipend for internships or service projects, ect. The Student Sustainability Fund will be accepting applications each term through Fall of 2020.

To be considered for approval, students must complete an application for funds and identify a faculty or staff advisor to help track the progress of the project. After receiving approval, the student will have one year to complete the stipulations of their proposed project. Proposals will be reviewed by the Sustainability Steering Committee once per term. Due dates can be found on the Sustainability page of the Lawrence website.

Eligibility and Application Process

Any Lawrence student that will be enrolled during the term of their proposed project is eligible to apply. Qualifying students must be available to present their findings to the Lawrence Community.
Applications can be submitted at any time with a final due date of the 7th week of each term. Students should apply the term before they plan to execute their project. For example, students that apply during the fall term and are accepted will receive funding for winter break or winter term.
