Our hearts go out to the people of Haiti as they begin on their path toward recovery following a devastating earthquake. As some of you know, many Lawrentians have close personal relationships with Haiti and its people. Professor Janet Anthony and Lawrence music students have been conducting music camps there for nearly 15 years, and a group just returned from the Holy Trinity Music School in Port au Prince last month.
The extent of the destruction is overwhelming, and the need for life-sustaining relief – essentials such as food, water, medical supplies, and electricity – is immense. The Lawrence community will make continuing efforts to help relieve the suffering, as our friends in Haiti remain in our thoughts and prayers.
