Statement
 |
"As a professor, I believe in using an activist approach in the areas of
language, literature, and fine arts. Specifically, when teaching languages and
literature I tend to adopt an inductive, rather than a grammar-based and
deductive style of instructional delivery. I have found that this method
encourages students to actively participate in the classroom. As part of my
teaching, I use computer-based and audio-visual techniques. When teaching visual
arts, I encourage students to discover and experience first hand the joys of
artistic expression. I am flexible when teaching both languages and arts so that
I meet the Departments' needs, as well as the students' by offering the highest
quality of instruction possible. Regarding my administrative outlook, I believe
in working as a team member and in serving both faculty and students in order to
further the goals of the institution and the educational process." |
