Phone: (414) 232-7071 As a recent graduate of Lawrence University with a major in music education emphasizing instrumental music, I come with knowledge, creativity, and fresh ideas. As you will learn from my resume, I am an enthusiastic teacher with a wealth of teaching experience as well as performing experience. In order to reach each student, lessons must be varied and engaging. I believe in immersing my students in a number of visual, aural, and kinesthetic musical experiences—these experiences help nurture the student on all levels. I am currently student-teaching at Appleton West High School, Lincoln Elementary, Jefferson Elementary, and Ferber Elementary where I have created a variety of student-centered opportunities to generate a thorough understanding of music in both large and small group settings. I am committed to helping students learn and love music, and I believe my energy motivates them to accomplish just that. Besides addressing musical skills in the classroom, exploring music theory, history, and musicality are all essential parts of my music classroom. As a clarinetist, I have had the pleasure of being a performer in the Green Bay Civic Orchestra as well as several Lawrence ensembles including the Lawrence Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and a few small chamber ensembles including the Godiva Winds, a woodwind quintet. With this broad performing experience, I feel confident teaching a wide spectrum of musical genres. |
