Utagawa Kunisada II
Utagawa Kunisada II (1823-1880) is renowned for his prints featuring pleasure-houses and tea ceremonies, often seen together, as geishas usually acted as chaperones at tea-houses. Kunisada II was a pupil of Utagawa Kunisada I. Like many ukiyo-e artist, he went by many names. Much of his early work was signed Baidō Kunimasa III which he switched in 1846 to Kunisada after marrying his master's daughter. When his master died, he changed his name once more to Toyokuni III. However, since there were three artists called Toyokuni before him, Kunisada II is now often known as Toyokuni IV.
