Utagawa Yoshikazu
(active 1850s-70s)

Yoshikazu Utagawa was born in Edo where he stayed for the rest of his life. He started as a pupil of Kuniyoshi Utagawa. Yoshikazu is a major printmaker of the Yokohama school, often signing his prints with Ichikawa Yoshikazu.  His favorite subjects were foreigners and foreign manners.

The temple hall Sanjusangendo in Edo was built as a replica of the Rengeo-in,Kyoto. The building has 33 bays and is about 400 feet long. It is famous for its archery range.
