Series: Sanju-rokkasen (Selection of Thirty-six Beauties). The series consists of 36 prints which are based on the theme of the "Thirty-six Poets" (Sanju-rokkasen) of Japanese literature. In this series Toshikata depicts beauties from different eras in their respective customary dress and appropriate settings.
