On Monday, September 17, new international students may:

In addition to the regular Welcome Week orientation activities listed in the schedule, new international students should attend the following special sessions:

Monday, September 17

1:00 p.m.
Bus trip to Burlington Coat Factory and
Fox River Mall to purchase necessary items
Departing from International House

6:00 p.m.
Welcome Dinner
Barber Room
(Downer Commons, second floor)
Enjoy a dinner with Dean of Students Nancy Truesdell, TSA (CESA) instructor
Cecile Despres-Berry, and international student services staff

Following dinner, dessert will be served at the home of the Dean of Students, 716 East College Avenue, hosted by Dean Truesdell

Tuesday, September 18

8:30 a.m.
Discussion of Office of International Student Services with staff: international student immigration forms, regulations and procedures; and legal rights, responsibilities, and requirements in the United States

Student employment, student payroll, and taxes with human resources and financial aid staff

Collection of passports, forms I-20 or DS-2019, and I-94 by Office of International Student Services

Wednesday, September 19

9:00 a.m.
Opportunity for questions and return of immigration paperwork

Representatives on hand from the U.S. Social Security Administration for completion of forms
to obtain Social Security card

Meet with Martha Hemwall, dean of student academic services, to discuss academic
advising, your relationship with faculty, and the Lawrence Honor Code
