Habitat for Humanity
Lawrence Habitat for Humanity traveled by coach bus to the Big Apple during spring break for a service trip sponsored by Habitat for Humanity of Westchester, New York. Thirty students spent five days panting a housing project in Peekskill, NY and cleaning up lots and neighborhoods of Yonkers, NY in preparation for a home groundbreaking.

CADY and Co-op
Congratulations to CADY (Confidence and Determination for Youth) for their volunteer efforts in providing educational opportunities for underserved youth in the Appleton community. CADY just hosted their third annual Math and Science Day where over 100 k-sixth grade students learned about psychology, anthropology, math, nutrition, and chemistry. Congratulations Co-op! Their recent partnership with Pioneer Village through the VCSC's Adopt-an-Agency Program is commended for their efforts volunteering in the Appleton Community.

CMENC and Project: Sierra Leone
Service Council voted to recognize outstanding volunteerism on campus and chose CMENC and Project: Sierra Leone. CMENC created an outstanding benefit concern for Haiti. Project: Sierra Leone raised funds and awareness for Sierra Leone. Please join the volunteer center in congratulating CMENC and Project: Sierra Leone.

LU Football Team and Students Engaged in Global Aid
Service Council voted to recognize outstanding volunteerism on campus and chose the LU Football Team for their heart-felt dedication to and support of a young Appleton-area boy with health concerns and to SEGA for their outstanding fundraising and monetary contributions to provide loans for KIVA to help alleviate poverty.
