Congratulations LU Football Team and Students Engaged in Global Aid!
Service Council voted to recognize outstanding volunteerism on campus and chose the LU Football Team for their heart-felt dedication to and support of a young Appleton-area boy with health concerns and to SEGA for their outstanding fundraising and monetary contributions to provide loans for KIVA to help alleviate poverty. Please help the VCSC congratulate these organizations for their outstanding commitment to helping those in need!
SERVICE COUNCIL
The LU Service Council was designed to provide a good networking and informational opportunity to all service-oriented organizations on campus. These organizations include honor societies, fraternities, sororities, and many other themed groups that participate in service-oriented activities on campus and/or in the community.
The purpose of the Service Council is to form a reliable network of communication. Through communication, all the organizations involved will know what service is taking place on campus. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to request collaboration with service projects from other groups. Through the Service Council, the Volunteer Center will be able to directly work with each organization in helping you achieve your organization’s service goals as well as helping us keep track of all the volunteering that Lawrentians take part in. Every organization involved in the Service Council will have a greater sense of service projects on campus and will be able to work together to make every volunteering event successful. Furthermore, the Volunteer Center aims to log all service hours completed by individual Lawrentians as well as service hours completed by organizations. All of these records are on file for you and your organization to reference.
