In addition to encouraging volunteerism with a number of community projects, the Volunteer Center also coordinates programs of its own. For more information on any of the opportunities listed below, either follow the link or contact the VCSC.

VITAL Tutoring
The VITAL Tutoring program is designed to connect Lawrence student tutors with students from Appleton area elementary, middle, and high schools.

Parents: request a VITAL Tutor here.

LARY Buddy Program
LARY (Lawrence Assistance Reaching Youth) is a mentorship program between Lawrence and a nearby elementary school. Lawrence students spend 2 hours per week with an at-risk student, providing support and a positive role model. The LARY program is great for anyone who loves kids and is a year-long volunteer commitment.

Summer Volunteer Opportunity Grant (SVOG)
The Summer Volunteer Opportunity Grant is designed to provide financial assistance for Lawrence students participating in service projects as learning experiences during the summer months.  SVOG funding is available to assist with the practical expenses for summer service projects.  Because the VCSC recognizes the financial demands of a Lawrence University education, part of the funding is also intended to offset the opportunity cost of a summer spent engaged in volunteer and service work.
