Meet the Current Residence Hall Directors (RHDs)
Residence Hall Directors (RHDs) are full-time members of the professional student affairs staff at Lawrence. RHDs maintain offices and reside in apartments in their halls. Overseeing the development of the community in their area and serving as an accessible resource person for students, RHDs supervise the student Residence Life Advisor staff, advise Hall Councils, oversee the operation of front desks, and enforce university policy so that the living environment remains safe, respectful, and fun. RHDs typically know all the residents in their area and are available to talk with residents about any personal or hall concerns. There is an RHD on duty for the campus 24-hours a day, 7 days a week during the academic year.
Residence Hall Directors also serve the university in another capacity outside their halls, working in collateral assignments in a number of student-focused departments. Current RHD collateral positions include diversity programs, intramurals, wellness programs, campus activities programs, Student Affairs special projects, academic support services, and residence life programs.
