This sanction is in conjunction with a written apology to ____ and an anonymous editorial that will be submitted to the Lawrentian. This article can be written with ____ and should address how emotional and mental intimidation are as harmful as physical intimidation and why they have no place in the Lawrence community. The apology should be given to the Dean of Students office by Wednesday, November 17, 1999 and the article should be given to the Dean of Students office by December 3, 1999.

In addition, you are required to write a signed letter of apology to ___________, which will also be printed anonymously in the Lawerentian. This letter should address the impact of your actions on the Lawrence community. The letter must be submitted to Dean Truesdell no later than Wednesday, November 24, 1999. Dean Truesdell will be responsible for forwarding the letter to L.U.C.C. and the Lawrentian.

The purpose of this letter is to inform you of the results of your Judicial Board hearing on Sunday, December 5, 1999. The board has unanimously found you in violation of the university's Policy on Personal Safety: All members of the Lawrence University community have a right to a safe living, learning and work environment. Violence or threats of violence against students, employees, or visitors are unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Violence/threats of violence include, but are not limited to, striking another, pushing, kicking, throwing things, abusing/destroying property, physical intimidation, threats (direct, implied or veiled), stalking or harassment. You have also been found in violation of LUCC legislation IV. D. 2.01, Disruptive Behavior: members of the L.U. Community will not engage in assault of another person.
The Board has decided on the following sanctions:
Disciplinary Probation for the remainder of your enrollment at Lawrence. Disciplinary probation constitutes a reprimand upon the accused student for a specified period of time and includes a statement that further violation of the Social Code shall result in a minimum penalty of suspension.
In addition, the following sanctions have been given: Extracurricular probation for Term II of the 1999-2000 academic year during which you will not be allowed to participate in extracurricular activities. Also you will be removed from your current housing assignment and will be assigned to a hall other than the one in which _____ lives. This will begin in Term II 1999-2000 and will remain in effect until the end of the 1999-00 school year. It is your responsibility to contact Nancy Truesdell to make the necessary housing arrangements.

B. 2.00: Consideration Hours - quiet hours exist at times selected by the residents of a residence hall, small house, or fraternity house. During such times unreasonable noise and other distractions are not tolerated.
