The Appleton Community
The Appleton community is another place for students to expand their learning opportunities. To encourage TSA student involvement in the community, the program provides the following opportunities:
- Friendship Family Program: Students are matched with a local family whom they meet periodically for family meals, holiday celebrations, children's parties, outdoor activities, etc.
- Volunteering: Students volunteer at least once per term with their choice of community volunteer organizations.
- Local schools: Students spend a day shadowing a local high school student in the fall term and give a cultural presentation to elementary students in the spring term. Additional opportunities are available for interested students.
