The Office of Multicultural Affairs' (OMA) mission is to help provide the resources necessary for all students to express and explore culture and identity. The Multicultural Affairs staff engages in issues that relate to diversity and acts as a catalyst regarding academic, social and cultural support for students. The office operates the Diversity Center, which seeks to provide a forum by which issues of diversity and identity can be broadly addressed on campus and in the surrounding communities. This office collaborates with university departments, organizations and the broader community in order to enhance programs, services and other activities for students while continually supporting the academic mission of the institution. Each year, the office assists student organizations whose primary focus is cultural awareness and celebration, in presenting major campus events open both to members of the campus community and visitors.
