A Letter from the Dean of Career Services

Spring 2012

Dear Parents & Guardians:

As you know, Career Services focuses on assisting students and providing them the tools to prepare for Life After Lawrence NOW. Spring term is an especially important time as we work with students in assessing graduate school acceptances, fellowships and internship/career opportunities.

In addition to our on-campus visits from schools and employers, training sessions and individual appointments, the following highlights some of our offerings for third term:

Lawrence ScholarsLawrence Scholars - April 28

Lawrence Scholars Mid-Term Reading Period Trips - May 3 – 4

Think Globally, Explore Locally

Throughout the year, partnering with our faculty and the Office of Alumni & Constituency Engagement, our goal is to offer a variety of events to meet the myriad of interests our students have. We are also pleased to have an ever-growing partnership with our alumni who happily volunteer their time to help our students. For example, Christopher Murray ’75, Ambassador to the Republic of Congo, spent several days on campus last term meeting with students one-on-one and in the classroom. Look for more information about Lawrence’s alumni engagement efforts in the spring issue of Lawrence Today.

We appreciate your support by encouraging your student to attend the different offerings throughout the term. If you would like to share any internship information, represent your organization on campus or allow a student to shadow you at work, please let me know.

All the best in 2012,
Mary
