Continuous Development Focus
Responding to comments about the in-service series offered in past years, HRLAs have teamed up with RHDs to offer a more relevant and integrated process. This process consists of the following elements,
- RLAs are expected to attend at least two continuous development focus events per term.
- There are two types of continuous development focus events
- Type A – those sponsored by Campus Life
- Type B – those sponsored by outside departments
- RLAs are expected to attend at least one type A event per term. Thus, your options are either A+A or A+B (but not B+B).
- If an RLA opts to attend a type B event, then the RLA is expected to provide a written or oral description of how the session relates to their work as an RLA after attending the event. Ideally, the RLA will have conversations with their HRLA and RHD about which type B event is most relevant to their work before selecting one to attend.
- Attending the Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (WAICU) conference on Saturday, November 13th counts for two type B events. These type B events are to be spread over the course of two terms.
Please see below for a summary of your Continuous Development Focus options.
