Responding to Requests

Requests are received by the CTL coverage desk and entered into the electronic form you receive as an e-mail attachment with the subject line “URGENT TUTOR REQUEST: PLEASE RESPOND WITHIN 24 HOURS”
We try to assign tutoring requests in an equitable way through a list of all tutors maintained at the CTL coverage desk
As a CTL tutor, you should check your Lawrence e-mail account frequently (at least once a day) for requests
When you contact the student making the request, carbon-copy or “cc” the CTL and offer two possible times to meet in the next 24 hours

If you call the student or contact him/her in person rather than sending an e-mail, please notify the CTL via e-mail that you have contacted the student on a particular date so we can maintain accurate records about which requests have been fulfilled

If you can’t accept a request, you must notify the CTL immediately and provide a reason.
If you turn a request down, you create a delay (which becomes especially urgent as the term progresses )
Let your supervisor and Julie know if you are going to be unavailable to accept requests for any length of time (illness, out of town, etc.)
If you consistently decline or fail to respond to requests, your supervisor will warn you once and then you may be asked to reconsider your commitment to the CTL
