Lawrence offers three introductory language courses (SPAN 101, 102 and 201), which provide a basis for any further study of the Spanish language and culture of Spain and Latin America.

ALL students interested in taking Spanish language courses at Lawrence, are required to take an online placement test. Successful completion of SPAN 201 is one of the means for satysfying the Lawrence foreign language requirement See the PLACEMENT & GER page for more info. including the link to the test and detailed instructions.

During 2007-2008 academic year the SECOND edition of GENTE will be used (NOT the formerly used first edition). Books and ancillary materials are available as a packet at Conkey's Bookstore, located at one and a half block's distance from Lawrence campus.
