Open-air markets are a widespread phenomenon in Russia. They commonly exist near metro stations, tram stops, and other areas that are well-travelled. In addition to fruits, vegetables, and other kinds of food, some of the items sold at some markets include household cleaning supplies, clothing, and so on. There are also specialized markets where various items are sold. Those include music, videos (often pirated), books, clothes, and pet markets.
