In addition to being places where stamps are bought and letters are sent, post offices in Russia also fulfill other functions. Among other things, they can be places where long-distance phone calls are placed, pension payments are received, and subscriptions to magazines and newspapers are accepted.
The blue box on the left-hand side of this picture is for letters to be deposited. The poster on the left-hand side is an advertisement for clothes from Europe, and the poster on the right-hand side is for Moscow's 850th anniversary, which took place in 1997.
