The woman on the left is "Ma", as the kids call her. She turned her house into a shelter (home) for abandoned-disabled children and lives there with the children. Her own handicap along with her generous heart has become a chance for these kids to survive. She is not getting help from any organization or individuals in this everlasting struggle. The main source of hope for the dwellers of this house comes from the songs Ma teaches. She inspires them to sing those songs enthusiastically. Ma knows that hope is not the only thing they need. There are days when she goes out to the street to find medicine. She can only do this for emergencies because most of the time she doesn’t have the money for individual pills. Her main goal in life is to make sure the children have enough songs to sing as long as they breathe. And she sure has enough of that to accomplish this goal.
