This is a common Freetown scene of earthy brown of the rusty tin roofs mixed with vivid green of the trees and deep blue of the sky. Although the patchwork walled, tin-roofed houses are the familiar Freetown picture, the city has a character of its own. This is exemplified by the maintenance of the British colonial buildings mixed into the African urban landscape.
