This two year old girl was born with a heart disease. There are many children born with this disease but the country’s extreme poverty prevents treatment. The disease is curable with an operation but fatal otherwise. However, the operation can not take place in Sierra Leone due to the lack of basic medical facilities. The organization Pikin Bizness attempts to find funding for the needed heart operations. Pikin Bizness arranges for selected sick children to go to France for treatment. I had a chance to interview some of the kids who had the operation through Pikin Bizness. They looked cured and their mothers relieved.
