Jennette, Peterson earn MCHA weekly honors

APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University's Nick Jennette and Josh Peterson were honored by the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association this week.

Jennette was named the MCHA Player of the Week, and Peterson was chosen as the Defensive Player of the Week.

A junior forward from Grand Rapids, Mich., Jennette scored the game-winning goal against the Milwaukee School of Engineering on Nov. 2. Jennette scored a pair of goals in the 6-5 win over the Raiders. Jennette scored in the second period to cut MSOE's lead to 5-2, and then assisted on a goal in the third period that cut the lead to 5-4. With the Vikings on the power play, the former star at East Grand Rapids High School scored with eight seconds left to give Lawrence the 6-5 victory.

Peterson, a senior defenseman from Duluth, Minn., tied a conference record in the win over MSOE. His four assists by a defenseman tied the record and was two more than his personal career high. The former star at Marshall High School assisted on Lawrence's first three goals of the game and on the game-tying goal as well. Peterson is Lawrence's career leader in assists by a defenseman.

Lawrence returns to action on Friday when it travels to Adrian College for a two-game series.
