APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University softball standout Alex Goodson, Carrie Van Groll, and Carli Gurholt have been named to the All-Midwest Conference North Division team.
Goodson and Van Groll were both named to the first team, and Gurholt was a second-team selection. This was the second consecutive season Goodson and Van Groll have been honored, and Gurholt was selected in her first season at Lawrence.
Goodson (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield), a sophomore, split her time between first and third base. She hit .440 in eight conference games with three doubles and two runs batted in. Goodson finished the season with a .390 batting average, seven doubles, one home run, and 16 RBIs..
Van Groll (Kaukauna, Wis./Little Chute), a senior shorstop, hit .357 in conference play with a homer and three RBIs. She led the team in hitting this season with a .429 batting average. Van Groll had one double, four homers, and 15 RBIs.
Gurholt (Scandinavia, Wis./Amherst) split her time between first and second base. The sophomore batted .407 in league play with one double, two homers, and six RBIs. Gurholt finished the season with a .354 batting average and had three doubles, three homers, and 20 RBIs.
Lawrence finished the season with a 9-16 record and went 2-6 in conference play.
