APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University golfer Adam Ferguson has been named the Midwest Conference Player of the Week in the wake of his first collegiate victory.
Ferguson, a sophomore from Sydney, Nova Scotia, carded a 3-over par 74 at Glen Erin Golf Club this past Saturday to win the Beloit College Invitational. Ferguson won the event by three shots over Beloit's Andrew Brodek and Carroll College's Mike McCormick.
Ferguson tied his low round for the year, as he has now shot 74 three times. Ferguson carded rounds of 74 at the Wisconsin Lutheran College Invitational and the Marian College Invitational in the fall.
Ferguson followed that up by shooting 75 in the first round of the Carroll Invitational on Sunday at the Broadlands and then shot an 86 on Monday at Bristlecone Pines to tie for 14th place.
The Vikings return to action on Saturday when they host the Lawrence Invitational at Eagle Creek Golf Club.
