APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University defenseman Josh Peterson is only the second player in Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association history to be a four-time all-conference selection.
Peterson, a senior from Duluth, Minn., was one of two Lawrence players selected to the all-conference squad. He joins former Milwaukee School of Engineering player Ryan Moren (1999-2002) as a four-time all-conference selection.
Lawrence sophomore forward Marc Howe of Cedarburg, Wis., also was named to the all-conference team.
Peterson, a graduate of Marshall High School, finished the season with a team-high 20 assists to go along with six goals for a total of 26 points. Peterson, a biology major, ranked third in the league among defensemen with 0.96 points per game. He finished his career with 77 points, good for fifth on Lawrence's all-time list. Peterson also ranks second with 56 assists, and he finished with 21 goals.
Howe, who attended the Canterbury School, led the team with 33 points on 17 goals and 16 assists. Howe finished ninth in the league at 0.63 goals per game and 12th at 1.22 points per contest. Howe ranked third with three short-handed goals and sixth with three game-winning goals.
In only two seasons, Howe has piled up 32 goals and 28 assists for 60 points. Howe ranks 10th in career points, and is tied for seventh in career goals.
Lawrence also had eight players named to the academic all-conference team. Earning academic all-conference honors were: Howe, Peterson, Jesse Jacobs, Nick Jennette, Brian Kennihan, Aaron LaFave, Austin Montgomery, and Jon Sacks.
Jacobs is a junior from Pacifica, Calif., and is majoring in biology. Jennette is a junior from Grand Rapids, Mich., and is a biology major. Kennihan is a senior from Valencia, Pa., and is an economics major. LaFave is a junior from Centerville, Ohio, and is majoring in philosophy and economics. Montgomery is a senior from Lowell, Mich., and is a biology major. Sacks is a sophomore from Cherry Hill, N.J., and hasn't declared a major.
Lawrence finished in fifth place in the MCHA standings this season and compiled a 10-14-3 overall record.
