FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 16, 1995 Lawrence faculty member Michael Nicolella will present a guitar recital Sunday, April 2 at 3 p.m. in Harper Hall of the Music-Drama Center. The event is free and open to the public. Included on the program are works by Roberto Sierra, Francois Couperin, Frank Martin, J. S. Bach, Michael Nicolella, and Fernando Sor. Michael Nicolella has performed throught the United States, Mexico and Italy as a recitalist, chamber musician, and soloist with orchestra. Recent performances include Palazzo Chigi Saracini in Siena, Itlay, Dame Myra Hess Series in Chicago, American Landmarks Festival in New York City, the Internacional Festival de Guitarra in Jalapa, Mexico, Basilica di Santa Agata in Asciano, Italy, and the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival. Television and radio appearances include broadcasts on National Public Radio, Wisconsin Public Television, Wisconsin Public Radio and WFMT-Chicago. A native of Rhode Island, Nicolella received the master of music degree from Yale and the Diploma di Merito from the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, Italy.
