FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE April 19, 1995 Lawrence Artist Series Presents Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, under the direction of Artistic Director David Shifrin, will present the final concert of the 1994-95 Lawrence Artist Series Saturday, April 29 at 8 p.m. at the Lawrence Memorial Chapel. Composer Bruce Adolphe will speak about one of the works on the program, Turning Points, by Joan Tower, in a pre-concert lecture at 7 p.m. in the Chapel. Works to be performed include WeberUs Quintet for Clarinet and Strings in B-flat Major, op. 34, DvorakUs Quintet for Piano and Strings in A Major, op. 81, and a new work by Joan Tower for clarinet and string quartet entitled Turning Points, co-commissioned by the Society and members of the Wisconsin Presenter's Network. The concert will feature the artistry of pianist Lee Luvisi, clarinetist David Shifrin, violinist Ani Kavafian, violist Paul Neubauer, cellist Fred Sherry, and guest violinist Maria Bachmann-each an acknowledged virtuoso and all committed to the joys of great chamber music.
