Lawrence University Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Singers Featured in Concert
 
	APPLETON, WIS.- The premier of several student compositions and
arrangements will highlight the final concert of the year offered by the
Lawrence University Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Singers Friday, May 26 at 8 p.m. in
the Lawrence Memorial Chapel.  Guest soloists Nick Keelan, trombone, and John
Dirac, guitar, also will be featured.  The event is free and open to the
public.
	The concert will feature graduating seniors D. Bayne, Greg Beyer, Chuck
Keane, Becky Marsh, Matt Murray, Doug Schneider, Ryan Schultz, and Aaron
Turner.  Included on the program are original compositions by Lawrence students
Javier Arau and Charles D. Bayne, and an arrangement of Miles DavisU All Blues
by student Becky Marsh.  An original composition by Lawrence director of jazz
studies Ken Schaphorst also will be performed.  
	The Lawrence University Jazz Ensemble is directed by Ken Schaphorst;
Lawrence director of choral studies Richard Bjella directs the Jazz Singers.
