Lawrence University Hosts Oxfam Hunger Banquet

APPLETON, WIS. -- Lawrence University will host its annual Oxfam Hunger Banquet, Sunday, March 3 at 5:30 p.m. in the Buchanan Kiewit Recreation Center on the Lawrence campus.

Charles Ahlgren, an Appleton native, retired career foreign officer with the U.S. State Department and current Scarff Memorial Visiting Professor of Government at Lawrence, will be the banquet's keynote speaker.

Tickets, $6 for students, $10 for adults, can be purchased through the Lawrence Box Office, 920-832-6749. A $2 discount will be given with a donation of a bag of clothing and/or packaged food items. Banquet proceeds will be used to send donated items to countries in need.

Oxfam is an international confederation of non-governmental organizations working in more than 80 countries to find lasting solutions to poverty, suffering and social injustice.
