Lawrence University Hosts 26th Annual International Cabaret April 21

APPLETON, WIS. -- Food, fashion and fun from around the world highlights Lawrence University's 26th annual International Cabaret Sunday, April 22. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Buchanan Kiewit Recreation Center on the Lawrence campus.

The cabaret includes a buffet-style dinner with an international cuisine featuring sushi, Malaysian currypuffs, fried plantains, Indonesian fried rice, Indian chicken and potatoes, Paraguayan soup, desserts and beverages.

Entertainment during the evening includes Brazilian drumming performed by the Sambistas, Lawrence's popular percussion ensemble, a violin performance, dance routines performed by students from Africa, the Indian subcontinent and Jamaica, a martial arts demonstration and an international fashion show featuring traditional clothing modeled by students from their home countries.

Tickets for the cabaret, at $8 for adults and $2 for children 12 and under, are available at the Lawrence University Box Office or at the door the night of the event. Seating is limited to the first 400 tickets sold. For more information, call 920/832-6585.
