Lawrence University Hosts Conference for Food Service Professionals
APPLETON, WIS. -- Lawrence University will welcome more than 250 food service professionals and industry representatives to Appleton March 26-29 as the host institution for the National Association of College and University Food Services (NACUFS) Region IV annual conference. The theme of the conference is, "Catch the Current...Reel in the Potential."
NACUFS is the trade association for food service professionals at more than 650 institutions of higher education in the United States, Canada and abroad.
Representatives from Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio are expected to attend. The four-day conference will feature a series of professional development workshops, a marketing competition, a "culinary challenge" -- pitting institutional chefs against each other in a one-hour cookoff -- and motivational addresses by three keynote speakers.
Rob Bell presents "The Power of Positive Coaching," Tuesday, March 27 at 9 a.m. in Lawrence's Harper Hall. Richard Flint explores the challenges of working with different personalities in the address "A Day at the Zoo," Wednesday, March 28 at 9 a.m. in the Radison Paper Valley Hotel. Carr Hagerman discusses ways to create a successful and more human work place in "The FISH! PHILOSOPHY," Thursday, March 29 at 9 a.m. in Lawrence's Wriston Art Center Auditorium.
