Lawrence University Economist Named to State Health Initiative Executive
Committee


     APPLETON, WIS. -- Merton Finkler, professor of economics at
Lawrence University, has been appointed to the Executive Committee for
the Wisconsin Turning Point Initiative -- Implementation Planning. 
     As a member of the 19-member executive committee, Finkler will help
develop strategies that will address a series of 16 previously
identified public health and administrative system priorities which were
outlined in the state health plan titled "Wisconsin 2010 Plan to Improve
the Health of the Public."   
     A specialist in medical care economics and health policy, Finkler
previously served on the Governor's Task Force on Hospital and Academic
Medical Center Costs.
