Physical Plant: Principal Contacts

Harold Ginke
Executive Director of the Physical Plant

Harold oversees all facets of Physical Plant operations and services. In addition to the Manager of Operations and Construction and the Engineer, the Lead Security Officer, Safety Coordinator, and the Groundskeeper report directly to him. He also serves as the purchasing agent for furniture. Electronic purchasing needs, such as copy machines, faxes, printers, etc., should be addressed to Information Technology Services, as should any service problems that can't be handled by the office involved.

Marilyn Mc Glone

Marilyn handles all Physical Plant work orders involving building maintenance and the grounds. She should be the point of first contact regarding repair or maintenance concerns. A copy of the Physical Plant Work Order Request Form is available online.

Lisa Reffke

Lisa handles a number of the office's special services, including vehicle registration, the rental of university passenger vans, campus event set-up and take-down requests, and university guest house reservations. Requests or questions relating to those services should be addressed directly to her. For campus event set-up needs, a copy of the Events Set-Up Request Form is available online. She also is responsible for reprograming building access cards and responding to waste and recycling questions.

As the Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director, Amy is available to answer questions or process work orders and service requests in Marilyn's or Lisa's absence.

Kerry Cliff
Group Leader HVAC/Boiler Operations

Kerry is the group leader for the mechanical trades. He oversees the HVAC systems; many of the control points can be monitored on the Metasys computer program. The mechanical trades include boiler operators, electricians, HVAC mechanic, plumbers, and gereral maintenance mechanic who supports the other trades.

Mark Musser
Safety Coordinator

Mark is responsible for developing, administering, and monitoring the safety programs and policies on campus. He is responsible for testing, monitoring, and inspection of the fire alarm systems. He works closely with the Security Dept. personnel who are on campus 24 hours a day, and with the Appleton Fire Dept. and their building inspections. Mark also works with members of the safety committee on safety related issues or concerns, to reduce risks on campus and reduce the possibility of injuries and illnesses. The main goals are to improve safety within in the work environment, and to communicate safety to all employees, students, visitors, and contractors. He oversees the building trades, which include carpenters, painters, and a locksmith.

Bart Forseth
Custodial Group Leader

Bart coordinates the work of the custodial staff in buildings across campus. Students should report custodial problems as soon as possible to the desk clerk, building custodian, RLA, or residence hall director. Faculty and staff should contact the building secretary. Bart is also available to answer any questions or facilitate responses to custodial concerns.
