A few words about fallacies.A former student once said he found it strange that in logic classes, one learns a great deal of symbolic logic, but rarely studies certain of the fallacies frequently encountered in everyday life. This page is devoted to the idea that philosophers might be able to help prepare us for those encounters. I am generating it quickly, and, so, I am going to borrow heavily from other internet sources. Most notable among these is Garth Kemerling's Philosophy Pages. One could do worse than spend a few days romping through Kemerling's wonderful site. |
