Print Management is an initiative recommended by the Lawrence University Student Welfare Committee in order to reduce printed paper waste on campus. Technology Services believes Print Management will also offer greater convenience for print retrieval. For example, if a printer becomes jammed or is out of paper, it is no longer necessary for students to resend a document to print on a different printer. Print jobs may be retrieved from one of many Print Release Stations across the Lawrence campus.

What exactly is Print Management?
Print Management allows print jobs to collect in a print queue until released by the owner from a Print Release Station. Print jobs will remain in queue for 15 minutes; if jobs are not released within the allotted time frame, they will be automatically canceled. Authentication with a network password is required to release a print job. This security feature will ensure that print jobs may only be released by their owner. Print jobs may be reviewed and released from any Print Release Station on campus.

Where will Print Release Stations be located?
Print Release Stations will be located at the printers in the large residence hall labs (Colman, Hiett, Kohler, Ormsby, Plantz, Sage, and Trever) as well as at the printer outside the Information Technology Center (Library 214).

How do I utilize Print Management on my personal computer?

Step 1:  Setup chosen printer/s on your personal computer (if you have not already done so.) See the instructions for configuring your computer and printing on LU’s network here: http://www.lawrence.edu/dept/its/students/connecting.shtml
