Personal Websites

Lawrence University encourages the creation of personal websites by members of the Lawrence community. Every student, faculty, and staff member at Lawrence has an account on LU's web server with a template web page included. Students have 10MB of space on the web server. Your personal web page can be found at: www.lawrence.edu/stu/username (substitute your own Lawrence username for username above.) The page you see there is your default home page. It is named: default.htm

On campus there are several ways to publish web files. You may use one of the following:

Identifying your website on the list of LU homepages

The personal page directories, accessible at Lawrence Directories, are generated by a little script that looks for pages named welcome.html. So, if you want your page to show up on the list of homepages, simply save your home page as welcome.html instead of default.htm.
