Getting Connected Wirelessly

Lawrence provides wireless access to the campus data network in many campus locations. In general, wireless access is equivalent to wired access. Faculty and staff wireless connections are automatically encrypted to protect sensitive information. Students have the option of using an unencrypted connection, though doing so exposes their personal information to data "eavesdropping." ITS strongly recommends all students use Secure Wireless.

In addition, some types of peer-to-peer applications are blocked for wireless connections, and you should turn off file-sharing.

Student may use personal wireless access points in campus residences provided Lawrence Configuration Instructions are followed.
