Lawrence faculty and staff should not install personally owned software on institutional computers. In almost every case, it is illegal to install a software package on multiple computers from a single license.
If you ignore this directive and the installation results in configuration problems, Information Technology Services will fix the problem but it will not be logged as a priority issue. Refer to the Information Technology Services Website’s Helpdesk page for further information on problem management and priorities. If you feel that you require software that has not been provided by Lawrence , you need to process your request through the appropriate channels. For staff, see your supervisor. Faculty members should go through the department head in conjunction with the Director of Instructional Technology.
Personally owned handheld devices may require the installation of synchronization software. See the Handheld Support Policy. Information Technology Services will assist with the installation of this personally owned software.
