E-mail Accounts

ITS will provide an e-mail account for student organizations on Lawrence’s e-mail server. To request creation of an e-mail address complete a student organization address form. To request modification to an existing address complete an e-mail modification form. Approval by both Campus Activities and ITS must be given before an e-mail address will be setup.

The instructions below give you access to a shared e-mail folder from your personal e-mail account and will appear as a folder with the name that you give it in step 4.  Before completing this step, be sure that you do not already have a folder with this name.  Be aware that this is a shared e-mail folder and it is likely that more than one person will have access to it.  If one person deletes an e-mail, it will be gone for everyone.

Accessing your organization's e-mail:

  1. Open and login to WebMail.
  2. Click on Settings.
  3. Click on Subscription
  4. In the "Alias Name" field enter the name of the e-mail account. Note: enter just the name, not the @lawrence.edu. i.e. german
  5. In the "Foreign Mailbox Name" field enter: ~shared-mailboxes/mail box name i.e. ~shared-mailboxes/german
  6. In Webmail the folder will appear in your mailbox folder list. If using Netscape, Thunderbird, or another e-mail client you will need to subscribe (File-Subscribe) to it.

E-mail List Server

To request modification to a list server complete a change request form. Approval by both Campus Activities and ITS must be given before an e-mail address will be setup.
