Field Trips Continued:

A typical fall field trip is followed by a term-long seminar in which students focus on the geological complexity of the area.  The field trip and seminar culminate in student presentations on topics of their choosing that relate to the geology of the field trip location.  This fall Professor Bjornerud, along with Professor Clark ,and Professor Knudsen will be leading the geology department around to many of Scotland’s classic out crops including, Arthur’s Seat, Siccar Point, Silurian folded turbidites, the Great Glen Fault, and so much more.  Next year we will likely stay close to home and then who knows, maybe Norway?
