Dr. Knudsen is an aqueous geochemist, who specializes in the study of mining and industrial impacts on river and wetland systems.  Currently Dr. Knudsen is pursuing research on the Milwaukee River and arsenic in the groundwater in NE Wisconsin.  This is Dr. Knudsen’s second year at Lawrence University where he teaches courses in mineralogy, advanced geochemistry, geology and health, and introductory geology.

Interests:  environmental mineralogy, geochemistry, mining and industrial influences on river and wetland systems.
