This lecture on Modest Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, delivered at Lawrence University on November 29, 2004, was designed for students and faculty in the college's Freshman Studies program. Freshman Studies, a multidisciplinary introduction to the liberal arts, has been the cornerstone of the Lawrence curriculum for over fifty years. The lecturer, Michael Kim, is Associate Professor of Music at Lawrence. Professor Kim holds the B.Mus. from the University of Calgary and the M.Mus. and D.Mus. from The Juilliard School. He is a highly regarded concert pianist.
