Your debit account is part of your student I.D. card. Money that is deposited into your debit account is easily accessible: present your I.D. card to the clerk at the time of purchase; the amount of the sale is subtracted from your balance. Like a credit card, you have the safety of not having to carry cash, yet unlike a credit card, there are no mounting debts. It’s also like a checking account without the worry of overdrawing your account or having to pay a monthly service charge. Money deposited into the Viking Gold Debit Account can only be used for the amount of purchase; there are no cash withdrawals.
In the Memorial Union at the Union Grill, where students can have a meal or snack; Union Station, the campus store that carries school and art supplies, health and beauty aids, clothing, cards, and gift wares; and the Underground Coffeehouse, a lounge and espresso bar with a stage for student and professional performances.
In Colman Hall at Lucinda’s, the residential and retail dining facility. Lucinda’s serves meals, Monday through Friday. You may use your debit account here for meals outside of your meal plan.
At Jason Downer Commons. Although most purchases come from meal plan options, additional meal costs can be deducted from your debit account.
Report a lost or stolen card to the I.D. Office at 832-6654 and your account will become inaccessible.
Balances are rolled over to the next academic year. At graduation or upon official withdrawal, balances of $25 or more will be credited to the students account.
There are four different methods:
When using method 2, 3 or 4, it may take up to 48 hours before it is accessible on your Viking Gold debit account. Additional deposits can be made at any time.
